FISKOBIRLIK's 2020 turnover target is 500 million TL.
Lütfi Bayraktar, Chairman of the Hazelnut Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (FİSKOBİRLİK), said that they have a turnover target of 500 million TL in 2020.
Hazelnut Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (FİSKOBİRLİK) Chairman of the Board of Directors Lütfi Bayraktar, at the press conference held at the General Directorate of FİSKOBİRLİK, stated that they made great efforts to keep the union alive.
Stating that they made significant investments in the institution and accordingly they grew, Bayraktar stated that 20 main and 100 barcoded products are still produced in the hazelnut processing plant and sold in the Turkish and world markets.
Bayraktar pointed out that the capacity of the facility was increased 3-5 times in 4-5 years and noted that they had a good process during the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
Emphasizing that they are in a very serious activity in the hazelnut processing plant, Bayraktar said that sales increased by 20-30 percent compared to the past.
Hazelnut cracking factory investments continue
Bayraktar stated that the investments in the hazelnut cracking factory are continuing, and that they have implemented the project with a cost of 750 thousand dollars in the Fatsa district of Ordu, and that the infrastructure works for the construction of the facility continue on the land allocated to them in the organized industrial zone in the Bulancak district of Giresun.

Pointing out that they have 500 million lira turnover targets in 2020, Bayraktar said, “If you produce, you will contribute to the manufacturer. If you grow by producing, you will contribute to the hazelnut, the hazelnut producer. If you grow by producing, you will have a chance to keep FISKOBIRLIK alive. Our common denominator should be FISKOBIRLIK and hazelnuts.”
“We protect Giresun hazelnut”
Reminding that Giresun quality hazelnut varieties and hazelnut paste product are under protection with geographical indication documents, Bayraktar continued as follows:
“We protect Giresun hazelnut. Geographical indication has been taken for hazelnut varieties and hazelnut paste. No one will be able to sell the non-Giresun quality hazelnut under the name of 'Giresun quality'. We have established a control mechanism. We audit the entire market. 50 commercial companies received authorization certificates from us. We actually protected the value of Giresun. We are obliged to protect the product produced by Giresun.”
Bayraktar stated that it is aimed to harm FISKOBIRLIK with various allegations and that this is not the right approach, and said, “If this is our institution, we should not harm the institutional structure of this institution. That should be all our effort and struggle.” dye spoke.
